Do you have a chronic illness you are having trouble managing? Do others not understand when you say you are not feeling well – “but you look fine!”? Do you have trouble balancing the “I’m fines” with the truth that you are not fine? Does it make you depressed? Anxious?
Want to learn a different way to cope?
Join Cheryl Childers, MSW, LISW-CPS, ATR-BC, Mondays from 10am-12pm.
Grief support groups also can provide you with camaraderie, understanding and grief education from others who have experienced a similar loss, and are experiencing the similar challenges that living with the loss of a loved one brings.
You may think of your period as an annoyance but can you imagine not having pads/tampons every month? Did you know that feminine hygiene products are the least donated products to homeless shelters? Did you know that many girls in our schools do not have access to these necessities? For many the implications of living without these necessary supplies are serious… it’s the difference between attending school or work, between peace of mind and humiliation or between infection and health.
ABOUT RISING STRONG™
The physics of vulnerability is simple: If we are brave enough, often enough, we will fall. Rising Strong is a book about what it takes to get back up and how owning our stories of struggle gives us the power to write a daring new ending. Struggle can be our greatest call to courage and the clearest path to a wholehearted life.
If we are courageous, if we put ourselves out there to live a wholehearted life, it is inevitable that we will fall. The Rising Strong™ process is about learning how to rise back up after those falls.
This is a private and confidential group that can help women cope with their emotions surrounding their childhood sexual abuse trauma. These emotions may include, but are not limited to anxiety, sadness, anger, shame and guilt.

Help participants begin to process feelings and beliefs associated with the trauma.
Increased grounding and coping strategies
Increased feelings of safety
Education, discussions and normalization of common symptoms experienced by CSA survivors
Decreased avoidance of emotions and memories related to the abuse

Teams of three compete with one another to complete a common building challenge using LEGO® bricks. Each member of the team must work together contributing, communicating, and listening to each other. This helps them to develop communication skills, problem solving skills, in addition to sharing both the toy bricks and the responsibility of completing the project.
Through communication this type of therapy serves to develop vocabulary, and understanding of how to effectively communicate.
